Olathe West High School

The Olathe West High School project was completed in the summer of 2017. It consisted of more than 25,000 square feet of a 2” thick, unbonded and polished concrete topping slab. A concrete base was poured, and then our crews moved to install the 2” thick topping slab. Once the slab was cured, it was ground down to expose the coarse aggregates and then polished to a semi-gloss concrete finish. This topping and polishing technique is quickly becoming a standard in school construction due to a low maintenance surface and cost savings.
