Project Location: Lawrence, KS

  • The Westar Energy project was completed on December 9, 2016. It included 2700 feet of new 115# rail on 12 inches of sub-ballast on top of a geogrid system. There were 8 new turnout, 1 new turnout relocation, 8 new train detection loops, removal of 380 feet of concrete embedded track, installation of 350 track feet of new concrete embedded track and a significant amount of additional track maintenance. Kansas City Railroad Division Manager, Adam Turley managed the project alongside Railroad Superintendent Dave Bottcher and Concrete Superintendent Michael (Bubba Brisbin).
