KCI AIRPORT - NORTH PLAZA
Project Location: Kansas City, Missouri
-
The new 40-gate terminal at Kansas City International Airport, which opened for commercial air service in 2023, stands as the crown jewel of the City of Kansas City, Missouri Aviation Department. Spanning just over one million square feet with a budget of $1.5 billion, the New Terminal is the largest single infrastructure project in Kansas City's history.
The north courtyard plaza, built by Bomanite licensee Musselman & Hall Contractors, features an outdoor water fountain at the center of three semicircular gardens. This design pays homage to the shape of the old terminal concourses. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with meticulous attention to detail throughout the plaza. Musselman & Hall Contractors installed radius curbs and trench drains, white cement Sandscape® with inlaid brass elements, and a sandblasted grid pattern on standard broomed walkways, all contributing to the plaza's stunning beauty.
