The Green Hills Library Center in Kansas City, Missouri, is one of over 30 library outlets in the Mid-Continent Public Library district. Opening in September 2022, this 35,000-square-foot facility offers a variety of community spaces, including a programming room, areas for children and teens, a storytime room, and meeting and collaboration spaces for public use. Musselman & Hall Contractors was tasked with placing and polishing 2,200 SF of Bomanite Renaissance deep grind polished concrete throughout the center. Additionally, they installed a cast-in-place bench, bisected by a glass curtain wall that separates the café from the exterior patio. To create a cohesive aesthetic between the library café and the outdoor area, Musselman & Hall also installed an 1,800 SF outdoor patio designed to mirror the interior flooring. The patio was framed with a band of Bomanite Revealed, part of the Bomanite Exposed Aggregate Systems, ensuring a seamless connection between the two spaces.
